Tile Roofing Done
the Right Way
Tile roofs are the most common roof type in the Inland Empire — and the most misunderstood. The tile itself often lasts 50+ years. The problem is almost always the underlayment beneath it, which has a much shorter lifespan. When it fails, water gets in — and by the time you notice a leak, you often have significant damage underneath.
At GAX Roofing, we specialize in tile lift-and-relay jobs: we carefully remove your existing tile, install new high-quality underlayment, address any deck issues, and reset your tile properly. When possible, we reuse your existing tile — which saves you money and preserves the matched appearance of your home.
Eagle Roofing Products
GAX Roofing installs Eagle Roofing Products — one of the most trusted names in concrete tile roofing in California. Eagle tiles are manufactured specifically for the Western climate, built to handle UV exposure, heat cycling, and freeze-thaw conditions. Available in a wide range of profiles and colors to match or complement your home's existing aesthetic.
When you work with us, you're getting Eagle tile installed by an experienced crew that knows the product. We'll help you select the right profile and color for your home and climate.

Tile Lift & Relay — What to Expect
A lift-and-relay is a multi-day process. We carefully remove and stage your tile, expose the deck, inspect for damage, install new underlayment (typically Titanium or equivalent), address any needed deck repairs, then reset and re-mortar your tile. Most jobs take 3–7 days depending on roof size and complexity.
We coordinate permits and city inspections — and we do a final walkthrough with you when the job is complete.
Frequently Asked Questions
The tile itself can last 40–60+ years. The underlayment beneath it typically lasts 20–30 years. Most tile roof failures are underlayment failures, not tile failures — which is why a lift-and-relay is often the right move rather than a full replacement.
In many cases yes. We'll identify your tile type and manufacturer and source a match. Older discontinued tiles can be harder to match — we'll be upfront with you if that's the case.
If your underlayment is at or near the end of its lifespan (typically 20–30 years), a lift-and-relay is almost always the better investment. A repair on top of failing underlayment is a short-term fix that doesn't address the root cause.
Yes — tile is excellent for the IE's hot, dry climate. It's highly durable, fire-resistant, and provides natural insulation. It's also heavier than shingles, so we verify structural capacity as part of the assessment on older homes.
