Anyone can print "licensed and insured" on a flyer. Here's the difference: we want you to actually check. GAX Roofing operates as Gaxiola Roofing Corp under California C39 roofing license #1135657. You can look it up right now on the CSLB website and see our license status, bond, and workers comp coverage exactly as the state records them. Two minutes, and you never have to wonder.
The C39 is California's specialty roofing license, and it exists because roofing done wrong ruins houses. Getting it means passing state exams, carrying a contractor bond, and staying accountable to the Contractors State License Board, the same board a homeowner can complain to if a contractor disappears. Manufacturer Credentials You Can Also Check
Owens Corning Preferred Contractor. Owens Corning does not give this to everyone who buys their shingles. They check the license, the insurance, and the reputation, and they keep checking. What it means for you: when we install the full Duration system (their underlayment, starter, hip and ridge, and ventilation with the shingle) and register it, your roof can carry Owens Corning's Preferred Protection system warranty. That is up to 50 years of non-prorated material coverage plus 10 years of workmanship coverage backed by Owens Corning itself, on top of our own 10-year workmanship warranty. Two names behind the install instead of one. We bring the registration paperwork to the estimate.
Malarkey Certified Contractor. Same idea. Malarkey vets the license, the insurance, and the track record, and trains us on their products before they put us on their list. Install a full Malarkey Secure Choice system with us and your roof qualifies for the enhanced system warranty Malarkey only extends through certified contractors. We go over the actual warranty document with you, not a slogan.
GAF Certified. GAF is the largest shingle manufacturer in North America, and it vets contractors the same way: license, insurance, and standing, checked before your name goes on their list. We are certified with them too. What that buys you is choice. Three shingle lines stay open at your estimate instead of one company deciding what goes on your house.
Why it matters: the same shingle installed by an uncertified crew does not get the manufacturer-backed workmanship coverage. The shingle is identical. The paper behind it is not.
And one we will not claim. Eagle Roofing Products does not run a contractor certification program. There is no such thing as an Eagle certified installer, not us and not anybody, so you will not see that badge on this site even though Eagle is the tile we use most. We are Eagle Roofing tile installers. That is a description of what we do, not a status somebody handed us. If a roofer tells you a tile manufacturer certified them, ask who issued it and ask to see it. That one question tells you a lot.

While you're verifying us, verify everyone else bidding your roof too. The red flags below are the same ones I show homeowners in person, because an educated homeowner is our best customer.
Red Flags When Hiring Any Roofer
- No license number on the bid, the card, or the truck
- Cash-only deposits, or a big deposit before any material shows up
- The storm-chasing knock: they found damage you can't see, and only they can fix it today
- A bid dramatically under everyone else, the money comes back out of your roof somehow
- No written scope: if it isn't on paper, it isn't in the job
- They can't tell you whose name is on the permit
