If any roofer tells you a tile manufacturer certified them, ask who issued it and ask to see it.
That is between you and your architectural committee, but we plan for it instead of being surprised by it. In our experience committees want specifics: the manufacturer, the profile and the color, and often a physical sample or the manufacturer spec sheet. We bring both to the estimate so you can submit before you sign rather than after. We deal with association approvals regularly across Rancho Cucamonga, Alta Loma and Chino Hills, and out in Orange County including Laguna Niguel, where the committees tend to be stricter. Two cautions: start the submittal early because timelines vary a lot by association, and do not let anyone order a special order color before the committee approves it.
